Soko - Les diablesses

Title literally translates as "The Devils" but its English title is "Unloved". The horrors of a Catholic detention home are vividly illustrated as Sylvie (Anna Mihalcea), an orphaned teen in France in the 1950s, is put in an institution for "fallen" or endangered girls. There she is treated harshly by the bigoted nuns who run the place like a prison. Sylvie befriends Denise (Soko), a fellow prisoner who wants to escape.

Le pénitent is a series of 90 minute made-for-TV films starring Frederic van den Driessche as Pere Louis Page, a Catholic priest who, after losing his mother, undertakes a pilgramage and becomes involved in various plotlines on the way. 23 episodes were produced beginning in 1997.

Synopsis of Episode 118: "En pélerinage, Louis Page fait la connaissance de Jeanne. Malmenée par la vie, elle réside désormais dans un centre d'accueil dirigé par Philippe de Kerbrat. Cet éducateur, issu d'une grande famille bretonne, s'occupe de la réinsertion des anciennes détenues de la maison d'arrêt locale et recueille des sans-papiers et des laissés-pour-compte. Les habitants voient d'un très mauvais oeil ce voisinage."
