Soko does not appear in this film, but she covers the Platters' song THE GREAT PRETENDER in Tannaz Hazemi's 2015 short film, BEFORE THE BOMB. Kim Taylor of Noisey Music talked to Hazimi about Soko's version of the song: "To give you an idea of how I've obsessed over this song - I started working on it about a year ago. Since then it's been a game of juggling waiting and editing, between Soko's schedule and the various engineers mixers and composers who have worked on this from LA to NY. It's been THE most expensive element of my movie and I've worked on it as hard as I have the movie. How do I feel? Ecstatic. Elated. Overjoyed. It's a song that I want to hear over and over and I couldn't be more proud of it."

In an interview with Amanda Duberman of The Huffington Post about her participation in Tatia Pilieva's FIRST KISS video, Soko describes how she became involved with the project, and what the experience was like.
"I asked if I could kiss a girl rather than a guy and they said 'sure'...I met [my kissing partner] Marianna five minutes before I kissed her and I assumed she was a lesbian. Nobody had done it before me so I didn't have anything in mind in terms of how long we were supposed to kiss. We were kind of shy. We just talked and she was really nice. We thought it was fun, so we took our time, looked at each other and made it real, not mechanical. I wanted it to be special and it felt that way. Marianna then admitted it was actually the first time she had ever kissed a girl."
